Extracurricular - Elementary School

At Bethany School, we believe that the best way for students to BELIEVE, ACHIEVE, and SUCCEED is through a well-rounded academic program along with a rich extracurricular program. Bethany School students enjoy a variety of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities including the following:

Field Trips: Each class will go on 3-4 field trips per year. Each field trip is directly connected to academic content being studied in the classroom.

Physical Education: Bethany School employs a full-time PE teacher for grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. In addition to instruction in the rules and practice of various sports, students will participate in calisthenics, motor skills, Presidential Fitness Training, and much more.  Elementary school classes meet for PE twice per week, while middle school students dress for PE four days per week.

Music: Because we believe that it is an important part of the learning process, music is incorporated in many different areas of our programs. Our preschool students enjoy music as part of their daily curriculum. Primary students in grades K-2 receive formal instruction in vocal music while 3rd -5th grade students learn instrumental music, including recorders and reading music. We also offer weekly piano lessons for an additional fee. All of our students take part in our annual holiday performances at Thanksgiving, Christmas and/or Easter.

Art: Art allows your student to express their learning through tactile and visual experiences. Each classroom uses arts and crafts as part of the learning process. Kindergarten through 5th grade students learn from the Meet the Masters program for formal art instruction five times per year. This program teaches students about classic and modern artists as well as their artwork. Students then return to the class to create their own masterpieces in a similar medium.

Clubs: Bethany hosts a number of exciting after school clubs for students of different ages. Clubs vary by age and by year.
