Middle School

Middle school is a pivotal time in the life of a pre-teen, who though still a child, is yearning for more freedom and discovery.  Students in middle school become  very impressionable to the influences outside of their own home. It is for this reason that choosing a middle school based on biblical values is so important.

Bethany Middle School provides a small, nurturing Christian environment where middle school students can learn and prepare for the rigors of high school.   Students rotate classrooms every period for different subjects, just like high school. Middle school teachers use a variety of resources, including planners and online classroom assignment tools, to help students learn time management skills.  Students are given many opportunities to use their learning to inform their thinking and their values. Middle school teachers work together as a team to ensure students can succeed academically, socially, and spiritually. 

A typical Middle School Day begins at 8:25 AM and ends at 3:30 PM.                                                                                                      

While each grade level is different, here is a sample middle school schedule:

  • Period 1: Middle School Physical Education
  • Period 2: History
  • Morning break
  • Period 3: Science
  • Period 4: Math 6th ; Pre-Algebra 7th; or Algebra 8th
  • Recess & lunch
  • Period 5: Bible
  • Period 6: English
  • Period 7: Performing, Technical, Fine Arts Class
  • 3:30 Dismissal

We encourage all middle school students to take part in regular Sunday church services as well as a local youth group. Students who don't already have a church home are invited to join Bethany Church's middle school youth group called The Herd, led by Pastor Derek Freed.
